Yesterday at the office, just when I was about stepping out with my team, I met this young man (among others) who came to the office for a job interview.
I paused to have a quick interaction with the applicants and talking to this particular young man, I saw the typical struggle every young Nigerian graduates faces... unemployment (it was written all over him).
Obviously, he came prepared judging from how confidently he responded to the questions I asked him and amidst his current unemployed status, he had an interesting enthusiasm to his person. It was very impressive.
After asking him a few questions, I decided to give him a few tips on grooming because the 'son of man' was looking very fantabulous! His shirts had no cufflinks and his shoes were a wonderful sight to behold but this young man that wasn't looking like he could offer much had quite an impressive curriculum vitae.
After talking to him, I gave him my cufflinks to bottom up his sleeves and of course, a little cash for the road.
This young man, like many other people out there, is a vibrant young man with so much potential and a lot to offer society but the system doesn't give him and others a platform to showcase or express the God-given talents and abilities.
At the end of the day, I offered him a job at the new Chinmark Paradise with the good pay that came with it. He was overwhelmed with visibly true joy and he couldn't find the right words to express his gratitude.
